Ladywell Convent is the Motherhouse (home) of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood. The works comprised extensive remodelling and refurbishment of existing Grade II listed buildings, as well as the construction of two new buildings.
The main building was extensively renovated and now provides modern en-suite accommodation on the upper floors for the Sisters, as well as new kitchen and dining facilities. The ground floor includes new conference facilities and a fully refurbished refectory and kitchen amenities.
The Grade II listed Greccio building was totally remodelled and the works included a new roof structure. The building now incorporates en-suite guest accommodation, as well as communal areas.
The Portiuncula accommodation block was also overhauled throughout and comprises self-contained apartments and communal facilities.
Furthermore, we built a new staff building using reclaimed bargate stone to match the existing buildings, as well as a new workshop for the maintenance team.
Externally, an extensive works package was undertaken to provide landscaped surroundings for the Sisters including an impressive walled garden.
