Winters Grace

Shamley Green

"Winters Grace" is a Grade II listed house formerly owned and lived in by Sir Alfred Hitchcock. The project included extensive refurbishment, as well as two new extensions. The contract was carried out for private clients and is now their family home.

Many features within the house were restored to their former glory, including two glass mosaic tiled bathrooms and a large inglenook fire place. In addition, the oak features were sandblasted, bringing them back to life.

The extensions were designed and built to replicate the existing house. A large glazed oak frame forms the link with one of the new extensions; this houses a modern steel frame staircase with glass balustrades and oak treads.

The external works included a large garden retaining wall which enabled our team to create a level paved area using the original salvaged York stone.

"Winters Grace" blends different periods of construction and showcases them in one beautiful home.
